Socialising your Puppy

Socialisation is the process during which every new puppy develops positive relationships with other living beings. The most sensitive period for socialization is in the first 3-4 months of live but doesn’t end there. The experiences your pet has during this time will have a major influence on its developing personality and how well it will interact and cope later in life. Puppies need to have frequent positive social experiences to prevent anti-social behaviour, including fear, timidity and aggression developing.

Continued exposure to a variety of situations as they grow is essential in maintaining good social skills. Puppy classes during this period are an excellent way to ensure multiple contacts with a variety of people and other dogs. Because it is important for the puppy to meet people, children, other animals and objects I have included a list of things to consider……….
